“Our ultimate goal is to give our clients a home where they feel they have always belonged – a home that respects who they are and how they want to live. I want to take their breath away.” – Elizabeth Metcalfe
The Traditional Home Southern Style Now Showhouse made its debut in New Orleans this spring. Transformed by 23 talented designers and artists, all originally from the South, the stunning Uptown District home celebrates the region’s cultural traditions while exploring the innovative ways they have been reimagined for 2016. Get inspired and shop this preview of the lighting looks selected for the showhouse! Photography by Brittany Ambridge.
Marbleized silk and gilded antique frames line the walls of the entry hall created by New Orleans-based designer Melissa Rufty.
With a signature aesthetic that seamlessly blends refined modernism with West Coast ease, Kelly Wearstler has revolutionized the meaning of modern American design. Well known for her triumphs in luxury hotel and residential design, Kelly’s ever-growing lifestyle brand boasts collections of furniture, lighting, rugs, fabrics, wall coverings, tiles, luxury bedding and home accessories.
We are thrilled to shine our spotlight on Kelly Wearstler this week and showcase a few of her instantly-iconic designs!
Kelly’s affinity for modernist art and architecture played a large part in her design of the Cubist series. The artful arrangement of three-dimensional sculptures and glass make these chandeliers striking in any setting.
The Precision series features one of Kelly’s signature design elements: perforated metals. Light diffused through clouded glass creates a soft reflection against rich finishes, bringing a sense of depth to any space.
You’ve seen their work taking over your Pinterest boards and Instagram feed. Now you’ll get a monthly dose of their designs as contributors to Domino Mag. This week we celebrate Circa Lighting client and husband + wife team Syd and Shea, the creative duo behind Studio McGee!
The couple transformed the top floor of a century-old brick building to serve as their design studio. They freshened the space with white paint, colorful accents, natural wood tones and most importantly: beautiful lighting! They selected rows of Large Eugene Pendant Lights in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass over a work surface and a Gaios Table Lamp to light their credenza.
Syd and Shea are originally from Orange County, and recently relocated to Salt Lake City to open their full-service design studio. They travel between California and Utah to work on projects for clients both on the coast and in the mountains. Here are some of our favorite applications of Circa Lighting from the beautiful portfolio of Studio McGee:
“I’m consistently inspired by the ‘feeling’ of home. Every client has a different definition of what makes them feel both proud and comfortable of where they live. However, the common theme is that home is being surrounded by things and people you love – and that is what I love most about what I do.”
For this month’s Hot List, we asked our design-loving staff to name their favorite pieces. This post is dedicated to you, Team Circa! Find out what they had to say and shop their picks below. As always, items on our Hot List are in stock and ready to ship, with free standard shipping on all orders within the continental U.S.
