This month we shine a spotlight on the simply brilliant Manhattan-based architect and award-winning interior designer Barry Goralnick. Each piece of Goralnick’s luxurious collection makes a distinctive aesthetic statement, yet mixes harmoniously with a wide range of different decor and architecture styles.

“During the process of designing a project, I have always told my clients that the lighting is “the jewelry of the home”. It adds interest, texture, and sparkle, like a good fashion accessory. For this collection I conceived of “jewelry as a fixture”- literally!”

BraceletTableThe stunning Bracelet series has been a favorite from the instant Mr. Goralnick’s collection was introduced. The glamorous, textural design commands attention in any space! Each piece in this series is available in three rich finishes: Gilded Iron, Aged Iron, and Burnished Silver Leaf. Barry was kind enough to give us a little insight into the inspiration behind his design:

“The inspiration was an Elsa Peretti bangle bracelet. We modeled them in the computer and stacked them to create the effect I wanted to achieve. The result is a light, airy fixture that fits in any type of decor.”

“I topped it off with a whimsical finial. I think finials are often the ignored after-thought by many lamp designers. They are often very visible especially at the nightstand or lamp table level.”

Last August, Barry took his beloved Bracelet Lamp on a tour of Manhattan and photographed it for his blog. We dare you not to smile at these photos of the bright light in the big city! Photography by Sully Bonnelly .

Goralnick-Bright-Light-9The Bracelet table lamp was so well received, Mr. Goralnick expanded the series to include a small pendant, large pendant and sconce. Next on the agenda: a Bracelet Chandelier!

Another beautiful piece from Mr. Goralnick’s collection is the Selene Table Lamp. The modern interpretation of a classic form makes this lamp a great accent to many architectural styles. We love seeing another one of his signatures – the unexpected detail on the finial¬† – on the Selene! This lamp is also available in three finishes: Polished Nickel, Gilded, and Aged Iron.

His Choros Chandelier is a mid-century design lover’s dream! The striking combination of aged iron and brass finishes will make a unique statement in any setting. Both the single and double-tier versions are also available in a Polished Nickel finish.
