For their 2017 Idea House, Southern Living enlisted architect Eric Moser of Moser Design Group, designer Lindsey Coral Harper of LCH Interiors, and builder Jeff Sanderson of Whitney Blair Custom Homes to create a breezy getaway on Bald Head Island, North Carolina. The barrier island is a true retreat, accessible only by ferry and revered for its picturesque sand dunes and marshes. Tour a few of our favorite nature-inspired interiors and shop the lighting looks selected by the Idea House team!

Warm neutral tones and lush greenery fill the living room. For a touch of glamour, Harper added golden accents throughout the space, including a pair of Morris Medium Lanterns by Suzanne Kasler.

As a nod to Bald Head Island’s recognition as a sea turtle safehaven, Harper accessorized the bold walls of the powder room with resin tortoise shells. The Anette Library Light by Ralph Lauren Home lights the bamboo mirror and black granite vanity.

The spacious kitchen features a pair of Hicks Large Pendants by Thomas O’Brien over an 8-foot wide, sand-colored island. Harper brought the outdoors in with botanical prints on the surrounding walls.

A wet bar with a wine fridge and capacious storage make the butler’s pantry a fun and highly functional space. A Morris Flush Mount by Suzanne Kasler was the perfect lighting solution for the uniquely-shaped and compact room.

The luxurious master bathroom is outfitted in soothing blue tones, complete with charming, patterned-tile floors. Polished nickel hardware and the Graydon Double Bath Light by Thomas O’Brien bring even more brightness to the light-filled bath.

Plan your visit to the 2017 Southern Living Idea House, open for tours through October 29th, 2017.

The Southern Living Idea House is a renovated farmhouse located in beautiful Senoia, Georgia. Since its opening on June 2, the response has been overwhelming. We are thrilled to have so many of our ceiling and wall lights featured by Tracery Interiors, the design firm who helped bring the farmhouse to life. They created a classic and comfortable home, which remains true to the style of the old south.

The foyer and entry way feel so welcoming with warm hardwood floors. A wide hallway runs through the house and allows an enormous amount of natural light to fill the space. A School House Flush Mount was used for additional lighting in the foyer.

As seen before, the white kitchen trend is still going strong, yet here, the white is contrasted with mixed finishes of brass and stainless. Henry Industrial Hanging Lights are functional, and bring a vintage touch to the room. A spacious kitchen island provides ample work space and an eating area.

The Boston Functional Double Sconce is used over the pedestal sink in one of the small bathrooms.

The Americana bedroom combines vintage and new, vintage-inspired pieces like the iron bed by IKEA. A Large Siena Flush Mount blends nicely with the style of the room.

Wood floors continue into the master bath, and the rug provides softness and functionality.  Yoke Suspended Wall Lights can be seen on either side of the vanity mirror. A claw foot tub is a natural choice in a southern home, and this one is unique with black painted feet.

Using a vintage vanity cabinet in the bathroom is a great way to achieve big impact. Boston Functional Single Sconces fit the look perfectly.

Playful blue and white wallpapered walls add so much charm to the home. The Bryant Sconce by Thomas O’Brien was chosen for this bathroom.

We hope you enjoyed the tour of the Southern Living Idea House, and hope you can visit it in person. The house will remain open to the public until December 22 and is located at 57 Morgan Street, Senoia, Georgia. Tickets may be purchased here.
