From the day Steven Kendrick founded Structures Building Company in 1999, his mission was clear: simplify the complex process of custom home building and remodeling for his clients. It wasn’t long before Structures developed a reputation for crafting some of the most beautiful and energy-efficient homes in the Charleston area. Our showroom has had the pleasure of working with Steven and his team to bring their clients’ visions to life, one light at a time. Get inspired by a few of our favorite homes by Structures Building Company and shop their hand-selected lighting looks! Photography by Holger Obenaus.

Architectural details can have a huge impact on a home’s design. Instead of keeping an  architect on staff, Structures works closely with many of the top firms in the Charleston area. With their help, clients can choose the architect whose individual style and design philosophy most closely matches their own.

Structures’ expertise is building on the coastal landscapes of Charleston, Daniel Island, Mt. Pleasant, I’On Village, Kiawah Island and surrounding areas.

The design/build team works with local vendors and suppliers to source the highest quality materials and finishes for every budget. Clients enjoy this simplified approach to selecting fixtures, appliances, color palettes and much more.

The Traditional Home Southern Style Now Showhouse made its debut in New Orleans this spring. Transformed by 23 talented designers and artists, all originally from the South, the stunning Uptown District home celebrates the region’s cultural traditions while exploring the innovative ways they have been reimagined for 2016. Marbleized silk and gilded antique frames line the walls of the entry hall created by New Orleans-based designer Melissa Rufty.

Product design aficionado Reagan Hayes created perfect balance in the parlor with warm wooden pieces and geometric accents throughout.

Birmingham-based designer William Rankin McLure IV filled the canary yellow walls of the dining room with his own paintings and sketches.

Classic silhouettes are juxtaposed with sleek, modern accents in the sitting area designed by Catherine Brooks Giuffre, founder of CBG Interiors Ltd. in Houston, TX.

Lindsey Coral Harper styled the butler’s pantry with an arrangement of heirloom silver, monogrammed cocktail napkins, champagne and caviar.

The whimsical family room by David Ecton and Lance Jackson of Parker Kennedy Living celebrates southern charm and the duo’s affinity for bright color.

Atlanta-based designer Michel Boyd took a modern approach in the study with an eclectic mix of textures.

Blogger and interior decorator Paloma Contreras masters understated glamour in the bedroom she titled “the Dauphine Suite.”

The airy bathroom designed by Catherine Olasky and Maximilian Sinsteden features a soothing color palette and elegant polished nickel fixtures.

The canopy bed and bold patterned rug in Birmingham designer Ware Porter’s formal master bedroom exude traditional southern style.

Chad Graci and Christina Javanmardi of New Orleans firm Graci Interiors created a regal master bathroom with rich shades of burgundy and ornately framed mirrors.

The laundry room designed by Clary Bosbyshell of Margaux Interiors Ltd. features fresh, floral wallpaper and crisp white linens.
