From the day Steven Kendrick founded Structures Building Company in 1999, his mission was clear: simplify the complex process of custom home building and remodeling for his clients. It wasn’t long before Structures developed a reputation for crafting some of the most beautiful and energy-efficient homes in the Charleston area. Our showroom has had the pleasure of working with Steven and his team to bring their clients’ visions to life, one light at a time. Get inspired by a few of our favorite homes by Structures Building Company and shop their hand-selected lighting looks! Photography by Holger Obenaus.

Architectural details can have a huge impact on a home’s design. Instead of keeping an  architect on staff, Structures works closely with many of the top firms in the Charleston area. With their help, clients can choose the architect whose individual style and design philosophy most closely matches their own.

Structures’ expertise is building on the coastal landscapes of Charleston, Daniel Island, Mt. Pleasant, I’On Village, Kiawah Island and surrounding areas.

The design/build team works with local vendors and suppliers to source the highest quality materials and finishes for every budget. Clients enjoy this simplified approach to selecting fixtures, appliances, color palettes and much more.

Elizabeth Newman’s design philosophy is to create spaces that are classic and livable but then layered with eclecticism. Based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, she is a rising talent and treasured client of our Charleston showroom. Elizabeth gave us an exclusive first look at her recently completed Kiawah Island project which we are thrilled to share with you today! Photography by Nickie Cutrona.

Elizabeth’s work is a beautiful demonstration of how effortlessly the pieces from our designer collections can be mixed. In the living room she paired earthy Gannet Table Lamps in Marbled Sienna with a Darlana Medium Lantern in Aged Iron.

The owners of the beach house were excited to incorporate fun artwork and classic fixtures like the Primitive Swing Arm Wall Lamp in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass into their window seat area.

Elizabeth paired a Gustavian Lantern in Aged Iron with Symmetric Single Twist Sconces in Bronze to light the crisp white stairway.

When designing a family home, Elizabeth names comfort and livability as key elements to her vision. A slip-covered reading chair is lit by a Tripod Floor Lamp in Tudor Brown.

Elizabeth continued her palette of organic textures and colors in the bedrooms. Gene Swing Arm Wall Lamps in Natural Brass add a hint of shine.

The bath reflects Elizabeth’s love of clean lines and symmetry. Stanway Sconces in Polished Nickel light the vanity and double sink.

The guest bedroom features a soothing arrangement of blue and turquoise accents, including a pair of Culloden Table Lamps in Pebbled Aquamarine.

For the master bathroom vanity, Elizabeth selected one of her favorite go-to pieces: the Vendome Sconce in Polished Nickel.
